New Membership Fees

30 September 2009

The KMS Board has decided that its membership fees need to reflect more accurately the cost of providing services. Read more to find out how you can get one or even two years FREE membership

From 1 October 2009, new members to the Society can choose from one of the following options:

1.      Waged membership = £30.00 GBP

2.      Student/Unwaged Membership = £20.00 GBP

3.      5-year membership =  £135 (10% discount)

4.      10-year membership £240 (20% discount)

For existing members only, if you take out a 5-year membership before the end of December, the price will be held at £112, representing a 25% discount. The 5-year membership will start at the end of your current term. New Zealand members are eligible for a tax credit of one third (33.33%).

The Society is run by a voluntary Board and 100% of your membership fee goes towards funding Society activities. Over the past year these have included:

  • The launch and ongoing development of the  http://www.katherinemansfieldsociety.org  website, which aims to be the most comprehensive source of information on KM
  • Regular email alerts on KM-related news, publications and events
  • Three newsletters
  • A successful one day academic symposium in France

Additionally, Edinburgh University Press will be publishing the Society's journal, Katherine Mansfield Studies (the first issue will be sent to members before Christmas), a commemorative statue is planned for Mansfield's home town of Wellington, NZ (the KMS is working with the Wellington City Council and the Wellington Sculpture Trust on this project), a blog which allows commentary alongside Mansfield's daily letters and Journal entries is in development, and we are working on an educational strategy that is designed to increase the reading and study of KM in schools.

Your support will help the KMS to achieve its primary goal of ensuring that Mansfield's work is increasingly read, studied and recognised - worldwide.

Please consider taking out a 5-year membership - you will save 25%.

Thank you for your support.
